In this latest video, we shine a light on what might seem like flawed expectations – physicians loving the EMR, downtime and maintenance having no impact on patients, support being so picture perfect that the IT leader and clinicians can just sit back and relax. I’m sure many of you reading this can relate to the parody; but are those things really too much to expect? They certainly shouldn’t be and unless we as leaders in this business expect more from IT, we won’t get more. The challenge is translating those expectations into result-generating actions.
The important question is, what is preventing us from getting to those actions? I would offer that the constant hamster wheel of upgrades, migrations, security concerns and the daily support avalanche has really been counter-productive to result-generating action. We are constantly looking for ways to make that IT minutia something that just fades into the background and we love helping healthcare organizations find ways to make reality live up to expectations. If you have a thought or a comment to offer on the pain – maybe want to poke fun of it for a bit, please join the conversation with us on Facebook or Twitter, we would love to share a laugh. If you have ideas on how to make reality live up to expectations, please share that too, I’m sure our readers would love to benefit from your ideas. Thanks for watching and reading!
