Network Assessment
ICE can provide a full assessment of your network environment, both from a current state and usage perspective, and based on the results of the assessment, make specific recommendations to improve network performance.
How Does It Work?
ICE's senior systems engineers will review your network environment, assess network standards, identify security vulnerabilities, review IT self-support capabilities, document the network infrastructure, identify gaps, and provide remediation recommendations. The assessment:
- Reviews configuration of all servers and general networking environment, including, but not limited to: firewalls, switching equipment, OS patches, anti-virus, backups, network closets & wiring, PC configurations, and application installations.
- Assesses network standards to minimize support by reviewing file storage and directory structure, printing methods and setups, backup utilities, e-mail, web browsing, patch levels, as well as other related items.
- Identifies security vulnerabilities and recommends solutions.
- Gathers a list of all locations and remote connections currently in use at the facility.
- Reviews IT self-support capabilities and identifies ways to improve staff productivity and overall usage of systems.
- Documents unique systems, password information, rough inventory, static IP addresses, and any additional items required for supporting the network, and reviews documentation for accuracy and adherence to industry best practices.
- Analyzes the results of the assessment, identifies gaps, and provides remediation recommendations.
Assessment Deliverable
Report findings are identified through interviews, observations and existing documentation. Recommended action items explain what technology and process changes are needed to address and correct the identified findings and issues.
The assessment will:
- Provide recommendations for network enhancements and improvements, detailing hardware and software options, and any necessary organizational changes that may be required.
- If a current infrastructure map does not exist, a map will be created for future reference and network illustration.
Network assessments can also be performed in conjunction with ICE's HIPAA Security Audit, in which case security vulnerabilities, assessment results and recommendations are integrated into the HIPAA security audit report.
