Help Desk Systems Engineer
Pella, Iowa
The Help Desk System Engineer provides technical assistance to computer systems users, answers questions or resolves computer problems for clients via ICE telephone Help Desk or from remote location.  In addition, this individual provides onsite technical assistance to computer systems users, including ongoing maintenance and troubleshooting.


  • Strong technical aptitude and skills
  • Architectural and technical skills in OS, Server and Networking
  • A clear understanding of attributes of a successful IT environment
  • General knowledge of networks and systems
  • Exceptional problem solving and customer service skills
  • Exceptional communication and telephone skills
  • Proven ability to remotely visualize problems and communicate resolutions to a non-technical user

  • Receives and prioritizes client help desk calls
  • Obtains clear understanding of client problem and works with client toward resolution
  • Designs and implements troubleshooting mechanisms

Do you have an aptitude for operating software, programming servers and troubleshooting technological glitches? If you have a ‘can-do’ attitude and are ready to provide friendly support in a fast-paced, problem-solving environment, then we want to hear from you.

Our ICE IT-gurus are looking to add a SYSTEMS ENGINEER I position to our team in the St. Ignace, Michigan area. The Systems Engineer I is responsible for executing IT projects and performing daily operations related to network, server and desktop administration. You would be assisting with a wide variety of computer hardware and software at ICE headquarters and client sites. 


  • Performs duties as outlined in a project statement of work or ongoing services agreement
  • Performs archive and backup maintenance
  • Maintains user accounts--setup, revisions, deletions
  • Completes workstation orders and setup
  • Performs troubleshooting, technical support and file maintenance
  • Utilizes outside resources, references and technical support services as needed
  • Performs desktop hardware, operating system and application support
  • Advises on client quotes and equipment purchases
  • Maintains documentation related to services provided
